About the event
Get to the heart of the matter...
A simple and effective approach for learning to mitigate trauma's impact on students, staff and community, building professional restorative practice skills and resilience building. When working with horses, participants are required to access multiple parts of the brain at once, tap into intuition, problem solve and feel deeply. When combined with counseling-based processing and instruction it significantly increases awareness and control of emotions, cognitions and behaviors. This event is open to the public, but is geared towards professionals, case managers, educators, and behavioral health personnel.
This training creatively explores skills through hands-on experiences:
Step 1: Introducing TIC Concepts through horse observation and interactions
Step 2: Exploring Self-Regulation and Recognizing Self-Regulation in others
Step 3: Creating new neural pathways by integrating intuition, problem solving and sensation
