She has been a leader in the field of equine facilitated services since 2007 with a combination of experience in nonprofit management and in providing equine-facilitated methods for growth, learning and therapy.  Amy is certified by the Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) as an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL), the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) and by the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA).  She earned her Masters in Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2022.  Currently Amy lives in Deming, WA and runs individual and group programs throughout the region.

Cathie Vincent, M Psych,

Cathie started her career with equine facilitated services at the Therapeutic Riding Center in Maryland. There she worked with children and youth with disabilities in the center’s equine riding program. She was also in charge of training the teen volunteers both in riding and horsemanship. It was this experience that led Cathie to pursue a master’s degree in psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Her masters thesis looked at why women in their middle years were connecting with horses even though many had never ridden in their youth. She is also certified in Equine Guided Education. Cathie has also worked in the field of Environmental Education. Working at both The National Aquarium in Baltimore and the Seattle Aquarium she connected people with the environment. She ran programs such as trips to study and swim with dolphins, whale watching and exploring the natural wonders of the forest to the sea. Her field work includes a month-long program assisting researchers in understanding how dolphins understand language at the University of Hawaii, as well as studying the wild Mongolian horse in the Netherlands before their reintroduction back into Mongolia. Currently Cathie lives on Whidbey Island with her two horses, Nica and Monty.

Connie Lloyd, PT, CFP

Connie graduated from the University of Kansas with a BS in physical therapy and is a Certified Feldenkrais® practitioner. Her passion is in prevention of physical dysfunction and in maintaining function as we age. She treats with a focus on posture training, movement re-education, and relaxation training. It has been her experience that when persons experience pain, injury, or stress, associated emotions are often not addressed. Connie is certified in Heart Math & EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and incorporates her knowledge with her practice and equine facilitated servicess.

I was passionate about horses as a young girI, and as an adult chased a dream of having horses again.  Her lifelong dream of partnering with horses has been realized on her Whidbey Island horse farm, Rein Shadow. Her life has been enriched by the interactions with her small herd of horses. Research, particularly Heart Math, has shown that the horse/human connection is mutually beneficial. “It is my personal & professional goal to facilitate an experience for anyone curious about learning with these intelligent, sensitive animals”.

Nicki Evans, ES, EAGALA Certified

From her decades of experience working with adults and children in stressful and often traumatic circumstances, Nicki has gained a profound understanding of the innate wisdom and healing potential in every person. Nicki’s strong love of horses led her to discover the transformative power and unique ability of horses to help one discover answers to life’s challenges. She maintains EAGALA certification as an Equine Specialist to help clients experience "horse power” for themselves. Nicki knows and has directly benefitted from the transformative power of being with horses. She feels blessed to be a part of the Whidbey Island community and to give back in this unique and special way.
